A man wakes in another world as a sentient sword. By absorbing monster crystals, he acquires skills, but he eventually becomes stuck and unable to move. Fran, an enslaved Black Cat girl, finds him during a monster attack. Together they escape, and she names her new companion Teacher.
Fran chooses an adventurer’s life
Fran wants to become stronger and achieve evolution, something the Black Cat tribe has struggled to reach. Teacher becomes her weapon, mentor and protector, sharing skills and magic while helping her learn to fight for herself.
They reach Alessa, where Fran joins the Adventurers’ Guild after a combat test. Guildmaster Klimt recognizes that her ability is unusual. Teacher keeps his intelligence concealed from most people, allowing Fran to build a reputation as an adventurer rather than simply the wielder of a mysterious sword.
The goblin dungeon tests their partnership
A growing goblin threat leads Fran into a dungeon containing a Greater Demon. The fight pushes the pair beyond easy victories: the demon is far stronger than the goblins and can interfere with their skills.
Fran and Teacher rely on each other’s abilities to defeat it and deal with the dungeon master. Their success earns Fran recognition, but confrontations with a corrupt official and a Blue Cat show that danger also comes from people. Strength is part of her answer to the prejudice directed at her tribe.
Amanda and Urushi join Fran’s circle
A-rank adventurer Amanda takes a protective interest in Fran and joins a dungeon expedition with her. A trap separates Fran from Teacher, leaving her without the support she usually relies on. Spider monsters make the separation especially dangerous.
Teacher summons the wolf Urushi to help reach her. Fran survives, the pair reunite, and Amanda helps them through the dungeon’s dangers. The ordeal underlines how much Fran has grown while showing that Teacher’s powers cannot prevent every crisis.
The season closes with Fran and Teacher preparing to travel beyond Alessa. Urushi is now their companion, Amanda remains an ally, and Fran’s goal of evolving is still unfinished.
