Taiki Inomata’s early-morning badminton practice brings him close to basketball player Chinatsu Kano. When she moves into his family’s home, his quiet crush becomes part of everyday life, while their sporting ambitions and Hina Chono’s feelings complicate the relationship.
Taiki and Chinatsu become housemates
Taiki Inomata is a badminton player at Eimei who admires Chinatsu Kano, an older student devoted to basketball. Their morning practice sessions bring them closer. When Chinatsu’s family moves abroad, she stays in Japan to keep playing and moves in with Taiki’s family.
That arrangement puts Taiki near his crush every day, but he worries about making her uncomfortable. An aquarium outing and their time together outside practice begin to turn admiration from a distance into a closer personal connection.
Training puts their ambitions to the test
Taiki trains with Haryu and faces the gap between his current ability and stronger badminton players. Chinatsu has her own pressure as a basketball player. Tournament setbacks matter because neither can rely on effort alone to get the result they want.
They encourage each other, but both still have to handle their own disappointment and return to training. Sport is part of why they admire one another, not a separate story running behind the romance.
Hina’s confession changes the friendship
Hina Chono, Taiki’s childhood friend and a rhythmic gymnast, realizes that her feelings are romantic. She eventually tells him she likes him, making their familiar, playful friendship harder to treat as uncomplicated.
Taiki is drawn to Chinatsu, while Hina’s openness makes him confront how his actions affect someone close to him. Kyo often notices the emotional tension before the others say it aloud. Meanwhile, Chinatsu’s growing awareness of Taiki makes their shared home more emotionally complicated.
Where Season 1 leaves the story
Taiki and Chinatsu are not an established couple by the end of the season. Their bond has grown, Hina has made her feelings explicit, and the characters are still balancing affection with sporting goals.
The quick reminder
- Chinatsu lives with Taiki’s family while pursuing basketball in Japan.
- Hina has confessed her feelings; Taiki’s affection centers on Chinatsu.
- The sports goals remain unfinished work alongside the developing relationships.
