Recommended watch order

The main route is the original TV story followed by the four numbered Thousand-Year Blood War parts. The movies are optional; they are not required bridges between the original series and TYBW.

  1. Bleach

Original TV series only — episodes 1–366

Follow the original cast and story before TYBW. A filler-skipping route retains the order of the remaining episodes.

How the series connect

Good to know

Can I start with Thousand-Year Blood War?

It continues the established Bleach story and assumes familiarity with its cast and setting. Start with the original TV run for a first watch.

Which Bleach movies are required?

None of the four films listed here is required to follow the original TV series into TYBW. They are optional additions, even when ideas or settings overlap with the wider franchise.

Can I skip filler?

Yes, for a manga-focused route. The filler list on the Bleach page identifies wholly filler episodes; keep mixed episodes because they also adapt manga material.

Is the Thousand-Year Blood War anime a reboot?

No. It continues after the original anime. Watch its parts in numbered order: Part 1 → The Separation → The Conflict → The Calamity.

Do the film release dates give a precise TV episode placement?

Not necessarily. The movie adventures do not always fit a single clear gap in the TV continuity. Watching them after the original TV run is a simple option that avoids interrupting its arcs.
